Two ex-Real Madrid talents come back to haunt them vs Elche | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid on Sunday evening saw their pursuit of the La Liga title dented by a pair of former Blancos talents.

This came as Xabi Alonso’s troops were held to a share of the spoils by Elche.

Real marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to Alicante with sights on a return to winning ways.

When all was said and done, however, the visitors could manage no more than a disappointing 2-2 draw.

Jude Bellingham proved himself the star of the show for Los Merengues, notching both a goal and an assist.

On the Elche side of things, though, Real’s ghosts of the past came back to haunt them.

Opening the scoring for the hosts was Aleix Febas, who spent ten years developing at Castilla between 2009 and 2019.

And also adding his name to the scoresheet late on was Álvaro Rodríguez, whose five years on Real Madrid’s books came to a permanent end over the summer.
