Italy will be aiming to clinch its first ever title in the U20 World Cup, as the 24th edition takes place in Chile from September 27 to October 19.

Drawn in Group D, the “Gli Azzurrini” will face Australia, Cuba, and Argentina.

Head coach Carmine Nunziata has called up 21 players, including five with African roots.

Wisdom Amey (Pianese)

The center-back of Togolese descent featured in four matches during the last Serie C season but did not find the back of the net. Born in Italy to Togolese parents, he has made just one appearance for the Italy U20 national team so far.

Javison Osarumwense Idele (Atalanta)

The right midfielder of Nigerian origin plays for Atalanta Bergamo and has featured in 60 youth matches, scoring once and providing three assists.

Jamal Iddrissou (Inter)

The forward of Ghanaian descent turns out for Inter Milan. This season, he has played five matches for the reserve team, netting two goals.

Ismaël Konaté (Empoli)

The Ivorian-born striker joined Empoli in 2024 after spells with Lecco and Cagliari. In 116 youth matches, he has scored 26 goals and delivered 9 assists.

Alvin Obinna Okoro (Juventus)

The Nigerian striker is currently with Juventus on loan from Venezia. He has racked up 130 youth appearances, scoring 41 goals and providing 7 assists.
