In a recent report, Defensa Central offered an update on the future of Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos. It is understood that the Spanish talent could still leave Los Blancos and seal a move to Turkey, where the transfer window is open until 12 September.

Ceballos’ Impressive Form In La Liga

Ceballos served as a decent squad player at the Madrid club in the previous campaign when he put in a string of solid displays for them at the centre of the park. The 29-year-old participated in 45 matches for Los Blancos last season, securing two assists in multiple competitions.

The Spanish talent anchored the midfield well as he made 41 tackles, 16 blocks, 14 interceptions and 10 clearances in La Liga. He was accurate with his ball distribution after completing 94.3% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, Xabi Alonso is under no immediate pressure to cash in on him this month.

Should Real Madrid Boss Xabi Alonso Cash In On Ceballos?

Ceballos is a solid tackler of the ball and can make the odd interception for his side inside his half. He usually clears the danger when required and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.

The Spanish sensation is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also play in the number ten position or as a left-sided wide player if needed. He has proven himself to be a useful member of Real Madrid’s squad.

At the moment, Ceballos is not guaranteed regular first-team starts at the Madrid club. Therefore, it is only fair to the player if Xabi Alonso allows him to leave in search of game time this month.

At 29, Ceballos is still playing in his prime. Thus, he might benefit from a change of scenery if he is planning to make the most out of the remainder of his playing career. With all things considered, Alonso should cash in on Ceballos if he receives a reasonable offer for his services. Los Blancos will be better off using the money generated from his potential sale to strengthen their squad next year.
