Michy Batshuayi joined Valencia in 2018 after Belgium’s third place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but the loan soon faltered and his career later picked up in Türkiye before a 2025 switch to Eintracht Frankfurt.
According to Superdeporte, Valencia confirmed a loan from Chelsea on 10 August 2018 after Simone Zaza and Luciano Vietto departed.
He arrived short of sharpness and never adapted to Marcelino García Toral’s plan or the side’s style. He featured 23 times, 10 starts, with only three goals.
The loan was cut short in January 2019. He then joined Crystal Palace on loan, a steadier period but not as an undisputed starter, returning 33 games and eight goals.
In Türkiye he scored 14 in 42 for Beşiktaş, then 44 in 75 for Fenerbahçe, reasserting his penalty-box instincts.
A contentious move to Galatasaray followed, bringing 30 appearances and seven goals.
He signed for Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in 2025. At 32 he plays a secondary role, with 21 outings and four goals in 2025-26.
Overall he has more than 500 senior games and close to 200 club goals, plus 55 caps and 27 for Belgium. Valencia remains one of his most frustrating chapters.
