According to AS, Valencia endured another poor night, their early organisation unravelling once Real Madrid asserted themselves after the break. Dimitrievski impressed, while Carreras struck as the team faded.

In the first half, Dimitrievski prevented a clear David Jiménez goal. Unai Núñez, on the right of a back three and full-back when attacking, won many duels with Mbappé. Cömert led the defence well and covered smartly.

Pepelu set the tempo and gave Valencia an outlet, with Ugrinic also better before the interval. Luis Rioja worked both ways on the right and Danjuma threatened with a few left-flank runs. Lucas Beltrán linked play to Hugo Duro and hit the post.

After half-time Madrid stepped up and Valencia lost control. Carreras scored from Núñez’s side, and Cömert could have done more for Madrid’s second. Copete was steady but suffered under pressure, he was booked and will miss the Levante derby.

Gayà defended reliably but offered little going forward, while Duro remained ineffective in attack. Pepelu’s level dipped and he went off on 70 minutes, Rioja and Ugrinic followed on 80.

Guido came on to bolster midfield without improving matters. Thierry returned after months out, starting brighter than he finished. Late changes Sadiq, Ramazani and Javi Guerra featured for the final 10 minutes and did not influence the game.
