Despite being just 1-0 up at the 90-minute mark, Real Madrid took home a 3-0 win over Mallorca after two goals in stoppage time courtesy of Rodrygo and an own goal.
From a broad sense, Los Blancos were the better team and deserved to go through, but Mallorca also made a strong statement in the second half and tried hard to spoil Real Madrid’s chances of making it to the finale.
The men in white will now lock horns against Barcelona in the final of the Spanish Super Cup later this week.
Sharing his thoughts after Real Madrid’s win over Mallorca, Aurelien Tchouameni provided an update on how he was feeling, especially given that he left the field injured early in the second half.
“I’m fine. The doctors advised me to leave because it could be serious, but I’m fine. Now I’m going to recover to play the next game. The blow was to the head when trying to clear.”
The player also looked forward to the final against Barcelona and spoke about how it motivated them.
“We saw that Barça won their game yesterday and we have also done it to reach the final. Now we have to win again.”
Finally, the midfielder praised his teammate Jude Bellingham who is back to the form of his life.
“Jude is a phenomenal player. He helps us win either with goals or assists, all thanks to his commitment. We have a great staff and we play very well at the moment. The most important thing was to win and reach the final.”
Lucas Vazquez also spoke to the media after the game and first emphasized how it was not an easy battle that they had won.
“It has been a complicated match from start to finish. Scoring the goal late complicated the game a little but we dominated until the end.”
“We had many occasions that we could not materialize, but the victory is more than deserved,” he added.
He also revealed how the dressing room was behind Vinicius Jr and supporting him in every way possible to keep him at his best.
“We talked to him and helped him in everything we can. He is a world-class player, not only in terms of football but also on a mental level. He has been through everything in soccer and we are very happy to have him.”
Finally, the right-back also praised Bellingham, saying,
“Jude has been brutal for two months, helping the team in the scoring aspect and also in the associative.”
