Eric Garcia’s rise in form during the second half of the season has not gone unnoticed, as according to Fichajes, three clubs, namely, Como, Girona, and Real Sociedad, are closely monitoring the 24-year-old Barcelona defender.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Barcelona are seriously weighing up the option of selling Garcia to boost their finances and open space for new signings.

The player’s versatility has become one of his biggest assets for Hansi Flick. This season, Garcia featured in 44 matches, scoring five goals and providing three assists.

Whether playing as a centre-back, full-back, or even stepping into midfield, his performances have been one of the few bright spots in what was an inconsistent campaign for the team.

Flick is reportedly keen on keeping him, but the club’s sporting directors are open to a transfer if a strong enough offer is received.

Of the three interested clubs, Girona seem to be leading the race. Garcia had an excellent loan spell there, and the club is now ready to spend up to €20 million to bring him back permanently.

Como, managed by former Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas, have renewed their interest after a failed attempt in the winter. Real Sociedad are also in the mix, eyeing Garcia as a solid and adaptable option for their defence.

From Barcelona’s side, a sale at this price would help balance the books and clear space in the squad for incoming players. However, the club has not closed the door on a contract renewal if the right transfer offer doesn’t come through.

Ultimately, it will come down to what Garcia wants and how determined the interested clubs are in the coming weeks. As of now, his future is still up in the air.
