The Real Madrid presidential race has intensified, with Florentino Pérez having set out José Mourinho to lead the next project. According to Glorioso 1904, rival candidate Enrique Riquelme says Vicente Del Bosque would be his coach if he wins on seven June.

Riquelme said Del Bosque would form part of his project in a completely altruistic way, positioning the club legend as an alternative to Mourinho.

Asked about links to Jürgen Klopp, he urged caution. He praised the former Liverpool manager but said there had been no talks, no meetings with him or with any other coach, adding that responsibility sits with another department.

The candidate, who is gathering momentum, again repeated a key campaign pledge. He insisted that, if he is president, Rodri and Haaland will play for Real Madrid, and if they do not he will cover members’ fees, expressing full confidence in the plan.

The outcome is being closely watched at the Estádio da Luz. Mourinho’s potential arrival at the Bernabéu could clear the way for Marco Silva to join Benfica, with the process still dependent on decisions in Madrid in the coming days.
