Victor Hugo bids farewell to Flamengo after move to Atlético-MG | OneFootball

Flamengo have agreed the transfer of Victor Hugo to Atlético-MG.

The player said in a post that he was leaving the club where he had spent most of his life after joining at 12, that he had grown as a footballer and a man, and that it was an honour to become a professional at Flamengo. He added that he departs with gratitude, pride and respect, that the club will always be part of his story, and he thanked Flamengo.

Atlético-MG will pay 2.5 million dollars, R$ 13.4 million, for 50% of Victor Hugo’s economic rights. Santos, entitled to a 10% showcase fee, will receive 250 thousand dollars, R$ 1.34 million at the current rate.

In August 2024, Flamengo signed ‘Charly’ Alcaraz from Southampton for 20 million dollars, R$ 110 million at the time. As part of that agreement, Flamengo ceded Victor Hugo to the English club, who loaned him to Göztepe, Türkiye.

He returned to Flamengo in June 2025. Short of minutes under Filipe Luís, he joined Santos on loan.

Promoted to the Flamengo first team in 2022, Victor Hugo made 105 appearances, scoring six goals and supplying five assists. He won a Copa do Brasil, a Libertadores and a Carioca with the club.
