Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte stepped up in a tense situation for Uruguay in their 2024 Copa America quarterfinal contest against Brazil. The Uruguayan was one of the five shooters for Marcelo Bielsa and his team in the penalty kick shootout.
After a scoreless 90 minutes, the contest went to a penalty kick shootout, and Ugarte stepped into the box to shoot the penalty that could send Uruguay to the semifinals. All the 23-year-old had to do was beat Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Ugarte’s shot beat the Brazilian shot-stopper, and Uruguay are now heading to the semifinals, where they’ll face Colombia.
