Villarreal express fresh interest in Napoli star | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Villarreal are eyeing a summer deal for a member of the defensive ranks at Italian champions Napoli.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Rafa Marín as the player in question.

Defender Marín is for his part fresh off a hugely underwhelming debut campaign in Naples, which saw the 23-year-old afforded a grand total of just four appearances.

The widespread expectation, in turn, is that Marín will be granted a departure from Antonio Conte’s squad this summer.

And ready to position themselves at the front of the queue in the bidding for the stopper’s signature, as alluded to above, are Villarreal.

The Yellow Submarine previously expressed a keen interest in Marín back in January, only to see a loan move for the former Real Madrid talent fall through at the last minute.

This time round, though, the brass at La Ceràmica are hopeful of a more positive outcome with a view to the 2025/26 campaign.
