Villarreal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with two further counts of rape. The charges were brought on Thursday and he is due in court in November.
According to L'Équipe, the Crown Prosecution Service brought the new charges following a Metropolitan Police investigation, separate from earlier allegations. The offences are said to date to 2020 and were first reported in August 2025.
Partey, 32, had already faced two counts of rape involving one woman and three counts involving a second. He also faced one count of sexual assault concerning a third woman, following an investigation that began in February 2022 when the first report was made.
He has denied those allegations, which are said to have occurred in 2021 and 2022. He was not prevented from joining Villarreal in summer 2025 after a requisition issued by the Metropolitan Police in July.
The two new charges relate to a fourth woman. Partey has been with Villarreal this season after leaving Arsenal.
