Real Madrid thrashed Monaco on Tuesday night 6-1 in a match for the seventh round of the Champions League. Vinícius Júnior was directly involved in three of the goals for the Madrid side and was one of the match's standout players.

After the final whistle, the Brazilian international spoke to Movistar+, highlighting the team's approach to the game: "We entered very focused, moving the ball from side to side. This way, I get to touch the ball a lot, and that's best for me.

"I'm always at the centre of everything and I don't want to be known for things that happen off the pitch. I want to be recognised for what I've done for this club."

In statements to TNT Sports Brasil, the forward also addressed the issue of constant booing from Real Madrid fans in recent weeks: "I'm human, I don't want to be booed in my own home. People pay for their tickets, which are expensive, and they have the right, but I don't understand it. Playing at the biggest club in the world is very complicated, the demands are extremely high. In the last few games, I didn't feel comfortable because, whenever I did something wrong, I was booed."

Talking about his goal against the forward sounded relives: "It was a very beautiful moment. I had made many assists and everyone told me I needed to score."

Vinícius has played 30 games in all competitions for Real Madrid this season, scoring seven times and making nine assists.
