According to ExpressAndStar.com, former Wolves boss Vitor Pereira is in talks to take charge at Nottingham Forest after Sean Dyche was sacked on Wednesday night.
Dyche lasted 17 matches, his dismissal following a 0-0 home draw with Wolves. Owner Evangelos Marinakis is seeking his fourth manager of the season.
Forest have opened discussions with Pereira, who has been out of work since leaving Wolves in November after a 3-0 defeat to Fulham left them bottom, with eight losses in 10 league games.
Pereira arrived the previous December and oversaw a surge, including a record-breaking six-match winning run, to keep Wolves up. He signed a new three-year deal in September but was dismissed less than two months later, with Rob Edwards appointed.
He had been considered by Leicester in the Championship, but is now in talks with Forest as they bid to stay up. Forest are three points above the drop zone and Marinakis has already dismissed Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou this season.
Pereira has previously worked with Marinakis at Olympiacos, which he also owns.
