A sporting director has been speaking on doing transfer deals with Chelsea after signing two players from them this summer.
The window closed on Monday of course and it’s all over now until January. Fans seem addicted to transfer dopamine and everything has now very much gone a lot like a ghost town as the summer window draws to a close and the international break starts. Chelsea are not playing football again until next weekend. It’s a very bland period to be honest.
Football fans just love the drama of transfer deals and the rumours that come along with a transfer window. But there are so many different things that go on behind the scenes of these deals that we do not know about, so many tactics, PR drives using the media to help them get deals done. Probably a lot of lies being thrown out there as well, it’s all very business orientated and a lot of rich people doing what they do best and making money and turning profits. It’s all very wild and all actually probably pretty nasty as well if you know the full ins and outs of it.
Carney Chukwuemeka holds up a Dortmund shirt ahead of his permanent transfer.
As cited on X this week, Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl said this on negotiating with Chelsea:
“Transfers in the Bundesliga are generally a bit easier. We’ve now dealt with clubs that aren’t necessarily dependent on money. This changes the negotiating position dramatically. And I have to say: the English are often pain-free.
“They sometimes deliberately enter the final phase of the transfer window because they know that, given their financial resources, they can rest assured that a potential domino effect will follow. So, we had to be patient in order to be able to negotiate.”
Dortmund signed midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka on a permanent deal and Aaron Anselmino on loan from Chelsea this summer.
