Werder Bremen ‘considering’ Martín Demichelis for coaching position | OneFootball

According to Deichstube, Werder Bremen are weighing former Bayern Munich centre-back Martín Demichelis, 45, for a coaching position, with the struggling Bundesliga club said to be looking at him seriously.

Discussions have also centred on Dieter Hecking and Daniel Thioune. Demichelis is available after his contract with CF Monterrey in Mexico ended in May.

The trail is not hot yet, but the consideration goes beyond a cursory look.

It has since been confirmed that Bo Svensson turned down the chance to fill the void left by Horst Steffen.

Demichelis previously coached Bayern’s youth and reserve sides, and later managed River Plate in Argentina. He could now take his first job as a coach in the Bundesliga, having made 259 appearances for Bayern as a player.
