West Brom ‘progressing talks’ to sign Jimmy-Jay Morgan as Stewart signs

BBC Sport reports that West Brom are progressing talks with Chelsea over a permanent deal for Jimmy-Jay Morgan.

Morgan’s contract expires next year, and he is expected to leave Chelsea for a nominal fee that includes a substantial sell-on clause.

The 20-year-old impressed on loan at Peterborough United in League One last season, scoring 12 goals and providing three assists in 34 league games.

Albion have made their first signing of the summer, completing a £1.3million move for Falkirk striker Barney Stewart.

The 22-year-old has signed a four-year deal at The Hawthorns, continuing his rapid rise since making his professional debut last year.

Stewart struck 19 in his first full professional campaign, including 10 in the Scottish Premiership after being recalled from a loan at Dunfermline.
