West Brom have signed Jimmy-Jay Morgan from Chelsea on a four-year deal worth an initial £1.3m. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 20-year-old forward is the latest arrival in a brisk start to Albion’s window.
His signing follows a £1.3m move for Falkirk striker Barney Stewart a day earlier.
A Southampton academy graduate who later joined Chelsea, Morgan scored 14 goals on loan at League One Peterborough last season.
Morgan said he was delighted to join and called it an easy choice after hearing of Albion’s interest about two weeks ago. He discussed with the manager how he would fit the style and the work planned to maximise his strengths. He cited the club’s size and positive feedback, and aims to help Albion finish a much higher finish than last year while playing, learning and hopefully scoring plenty of goals.
Morgan’s announcement came hours after Albion confirmed the arrival of 19-year-old defender Carter Pinnington from Liverpool. He has signed a three-year contract, can also operate in midfield, and will initially link up with the under-21s.
Albion are taking a proactive approach in their first window since the 2024 Bilkul Group takeover where cost-cutting is not the primary focus. The club are awaiting decisions from Karlan Grant and Josh Maja on new offers, with their current deals set to expire at the end of the month. Clarity is also expected on James Morrison’s backroom team after recent talks with Celtic coach Gavin Strachan.
