Guillaume Restes wore an unusual grey warm-up top in Toulouse’s 3-0 win against Paris FC after a late refereeing ruling, according to L'Équipe.
The goalkeeper is usually in pink or yellow. He learned at the last minute that his planned yellow shirt, matching his socks and shorts, had been rejected, even though it had been approved earlier in the week by the LFP.
Referee Mr Dechepy deemed the intended top too similar to Paris FC’s orange kit with yellow tones.
Toulouse scrambled for an alternative and Restes started in the team’s warm-up shirt, printed with number one but without his name.
He was light-hearted about it afterwards in the corridors of Stade Jean-Bouin. The mishap had no bearing on his display and, with hindsight, it even seemed to bring him luck.
