Flamengo have no plans to sell goalkeeper Rossi despite external interest, with the Argentine still backed by head coach Leonardo Jardim. At this stage the club intend to keep him.

According to Globo.com, Rossi remains first choice and the club want to avoid mid-season disruption by prioritising squad continuity. Andrew has impressed since arriving, but is not ahead of him in the pecking order.

A departure would only be considered if a very favourable offer arrived alongside an immediate replacement capable of starting. There have been no official bids.

Besiktas of Türkiye made an enquiry at the start of the year to gauge terms for a deal. River Plate are monitoring the situation, but nothing concrete is on the table for player or club.

There is a desire to renew his contract. Rossi recently received a pay rise, and has been negotiating an extension to a deal that runs until the end of 2027. Any new agreement would include further improved terms.

Rossi has played 28 games this season, conceding 27 goals. Now in his fourth Flamengo campaign, he has 176 appearances, with 102 wins, 43 draws and 31 defeats, and 128 goals against. The 30-year-old has won three Cariocas in 2024, 2025 and 2026, the 2024 Copa do Brasil, the 2025 Supercopa, the 2025 Libertadores and the 2025 Brasileirão.
