Wolves sporting director Matt Jackson has flown to Portugal to discuss next season with new head coach Cesar Peixoto, according to ExpressAndStar.com.

Talks are focused on transfer plans, with Peixoto tasked with delivering a return to the Premier League at the first attempt. Rob Edwards had been central to previous window planning. How much will now change is unclear, though agent Jorge Mendes is expected to play a key role after brokering Peixoto’s arrival.

Reports linking Wolves with Famalicao right-back Rodrigo Pinheiro are believed to be wide of the mark.

Peixoto returned to Portugal after signing a two-year deal at the end of last week. The 46-year-old is awaiting a work permit before officially starting at Compton Park and views pre-season as crucial.

Meetings with senior players are planned before the bulk of the squad reconvene in early July. Several futures need resolving, including striker Sasa Kalajdzic, who has one year left on his contract.

Kalajdzic has made only two league starts across four injury-hit years, spent last season on loan at LASK, and is keeping an open mind.

"I am looking forward to the conversations I am going to have," he said. "If I am there, I will give it my all. Maybe it is unfinished business. At the end of the day we will see what happens in the summer and what is the best for both."
