FA figures released this week show Wolves paid £26m in agent fees from 4 February 2024 to 4 February 2025, sparking supporter anger. Fans responded by calling for tighter rules and a cap on commissions.
As reported by ExpressAndStar.com, the outlay almost doubled year on year, up from £13.5m, having been £13.3m the season before.
Wolves were the seventh highest spenders on agent fees in the Premier League, despite sitting bottom for much of the campaign.
Many fans on X said the spending was unacceptable and further evidence of a poorly run club. Some argued last summer’s transfer window was mishandled, leaving the team exposed this season.
Others felt the club panicked when struggling to attract players, saying the money had not translated into quality. Comparisons were drawn with earlier arrivals such as Neves and Jota, set against recent signings like Arias and Jackson.
Some supporters joked performance-based payments would have triggered a hefty refund, while others urged that agent fees be capped at a maximum percentage.
