Fan zones at the 2026 World Cup could, for the first time, charge for entry. According to The Times, FIFA has said tickets may be sold for access.

For now, the change applies to one site in New Jersey, United States. Tickets for the FIFA Fan Festival there are already on sale at 12.50 dollars, about 10.70 euros.

Host cities will decide whether to introduce an entry fee and will set their own prices.

The tournament will take place across the United States, Mexico and Canada from 11 June to 19 July. New Jersey is scheduled to stage several matches, including the final on 19 July.

The move has prompted fresh controversy around the organisation of the 2026 event.
