Worried: Claudio Úbeda on Vélez loss, injuries and poor form

I don't think it's an excuse to say that Argentine football is hyper-competitive and all the teams are also strong at home, and you compete on equal terms in every stadium, and you can lose like we did today, when we didn't do things the way we had to or didn't have the performance we expected.”

On the other hand, Úbeda explained: “Teams are built, in my view, from the back forward and by being defensively solid. In the game analysis we had with Vélez, we knew that under high pressure they would also play long balls, but what they did was stretch the opposing team. And that's what we tried to avoid.”

However, “inevitably, something similar ended up happening because they had center forwards who held up the ball well and, after laying it off, attacked our defense quickly, which is how both goals happened, in less than three minutes. Those are the moments when you need to stay the calmest.”

Additionally, Boca's coach was asked if they are setting deadlines for the team to get on track: “I think we're just at the beginning of the tournament and obviously we analyze everything that happens week by week, but we have full confidence that we can turn this situation around. Obviously, we don't like that in four matches we've lost two and won two; I wouldn't say we deserve more, but we do have the obligation to be better and will surely work to overcome this situation and move forward.”
