October is Black History Month in the UK and across the upcoming weeks we will celebrate, honour and remember the contributions of Black people to Manchester City’s history.
City’s Women Super League win over Arsenal on Saturday saw the players from both sides unite ahead of kick-off as a symbol of solidarity against racism and discrimination.
Manchester City alongside the Women’s Super League, Kick it Out and the Football Supporters’ Association, ask fans to stand together and unite against hate.
This month is an opportunity to focus on and celebrate the contributions and achievements of Black people throughout the Club.
Our Premier League game against Everton at the Etihad Stadium on 18 October will also take place during the Premier League’s No Room for Racism window.
Keep a look out on mancity.com and our official app for features, videos and interviews over the coming weeks.
Everyone has a role to play to ensure football is inclusive for all, together we can make it clear that there is no room for racism or any form of discrimination.
Football is a diverse sport which bring together communities and cultures. This diversity makes the game stronger, and we are working to ensure that it is reflected across all areas of football.
Football is everyone’s game. We can all play a part in reporting racist abuse. If you see it, challenge and report it.
