Xabi Alonso ‘to evaluate’ Trubin as Chelsea also monitor Diogo Costa

Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso is interested in Benfica goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin, with the club also keeping tabs on Porto’s Diogo Costa.

According to Sport, the Super Club World Cup holders are assessing options in goal, a role filled by Robert Sánchez last season.

If Alonso and the club judge a move into the market necessary, Trubin and Costa are among the candidates.

Benfica, led by Rui Costa, remain relaxed about the Ukrainian goalkeeper and would only consider a sale this window if an offer met their financial demands.

Despite growing interest, the Lisbon club say they control the process and have no intention of easing the departure of their first choice for next season.
