Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito could get a chance for Italy after Gianluca Scamacca left the training camp with injury.
An official Italian FA announcement, via FCInterNews, confirms that Scamacca has departed from the squad due to some inflammation in his knee.
Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito has won his first senior Italy call-up over this international break.
This follows the 20-year-old’s dramatic ascent into the Inter first team squad.
Pio Esposito had spent the last couple seasons on loan with Spezia. His breakout campaign last time out – in which he scored nineteen goals – earned him a spot at the Club World Cup.
It was in the US where Pio Esposito really enjoyed his star turn for Inter. His match-winning performance and goal against River Plate particularly sealed his fate.

New Italy coach Gennaro Gattuso has decided to include Pio Esposito in his first ever Azzurri squad.
Italy take on Estonia and Israel in must-win World Cup qualifiers this week.
There was hardly a guarantee that Pio Esposito would receive playing time in either match, though.
However, the 20-year-old’s chances have just gotten better.
Atalanta striker Gianluca Scamacca has withdrawn from Italy’s training camp. This is due to some inflammation to his knee.
Therefore, it is looking very probable that Pio Esposito could get some playing time against Estonia or Israel.
