Nicolò Zaniolo is set to join Fiorentina after Atalanta agreed to terminate the loan early with Galatasaray, hoping to replace him with Monza’s Daniel Maldini.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the details are being worked on, but everyone is largely in agreement over how to make this move work.
Atalanta had signed Zaniolo from Galatasaray on loan for €6.4m with an option to buy for a further €15.5m plus €2m in add-ons, that would become an obligation if he featured in 60 per cent of their fixtures this season.
However, between injuries and poor form, the Italy international struggled to make an impact in Bergamo, making 23 appearances with three goals and three assists.

There will be fairly similar details for Fiorentina, who now take over the loan from Galatasaray with option to buy that becomes an obligation under certain circumstances for a total €17m.
In turn, Atalanta are in negotiations with Monza to bring in Daniel Maldini, but agent Beppe Riso told reporters today it was “not done yet” for the former Milan talent.
