Last night, Chancel Mbemba, showing nerves of steel, slotted home the decisive penalty for DR Congo against Nigeria in the final of the African playoffs for the 2026 World Cup. After netting the winning goal against Cameroon, the Lille defender has now sent the Democratic Republic of Congo to the intercontinental tournament in Guadalajara (Mexico) next March.
