Jermaine Beckford and Stuart Dallas, who share 418 Leeds United appearances, will steer a giant soapbox in the iconic downhill event.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds will compete in the Red Bull Soapbox Race at Alexandra Palace on 20 June, a downhill event for homemade machines.
The Elland Road entry is a peacock-inspired cart adorned with current and retro club crests. Its wheels carry the peacock emblem used on kits from 1980 to 1984, which then-chairman Leslie Silver regarded as unlucky after relegation.
Beckford and Dallas are tasked with guiding the soapbox safely to the finish. The former striker and midfielder remain popular figures around Elland Road.
Leeds will face Premier League opposition too, with Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham and Newcastle United also entering teams.
Red Bull have held a minority stake in Leeds since the end of 2023/24, and became front-of-shirt sponsor in a record second-tier commercial deal. The brand stayed on the kit during last season’s 14th-place Premier League finish and will do so again in 2026/27.
While concerns have been raised over the company’s influence at other clubs, fans have been assured there are no plans to change Leeds’ badge, name or stadium. The Soapbox Race began in Belgium in 2000 and now travels worldwide, with tight turns, obstacles and jumps often triggering comic spills.
