Liverpool are chasing a fantastic midfielder in a €50m deal. A massive statement to start the window?
Is it time for Liverpool to chase a new midfielder? It's the one area of the pitch that Liverpool didn't address in 2025, instead deciding to stick with what they have.
But we wonder if that's going to change this winter. Liverpool's poor start to the season certainly opens the door to changes and the middle of the pitch is one where dramatic alterations are possible.
In fact, Arne Slot's tactics this season lend themselves to new midfielders. He's been playing with as many as five in the team at once - six if Dominik Szoboszlai has had to play at right-back.
Bringing in a new option makes a lot of sense, then, and so it's no surprise to hear that Liverpool are eyeing one of the most notable in Europe right now. A €50m deal is on the cards.
Jeunes Footeux report that Liverpool are in the market for Lamine Camara. The young AS Monaco midfielder is about as versatile as it gets - a player just as likely to win tackles in the midfield as he is to assist a goal.
The report states that he could move for around €50m if a club is serious about their interest. It sounds as though Liverpool are.
And Camara would be the kind of midfielder they're after. Liverpool have had a tendency to sign attacking midfielders for their starting XI - in fact, all of their regular midfielders started as attacking midfielders.
