A second driver, charged with destroying evidence and assault, accepted on 11 March a plea at a CRPC hearing. He had otherwise been due before the correctional court on one October if it failed. He received an 18-month suspended sentence and a five-year ban on possessing or carrying a weapon.

Initially heard as a witness, he was later placed under formal investigation after detectives found his vehicle had a recording system and the videos had vanished. He was also accused of striking Leroy with a telescopic baton.

On two December 2023, Nice supporters were meant to be escorted by police from a mandatory rendezvous at Ancenis-Saint-Géréon bus station, around 40 kilometres from Nantes. About 30 had flown in, met in the city centre and hired VTCs to the stadium.

Their convoy passed the Le Saint-Georges bar-restaurant, a regular spot for Brigade Loire, and the situation escalated into the fatal confrontation.
