Adam Aznou made the leap to the Premier League in the summer, but just a few months later his chapter at Everton FC threatens to end sooner than expected

Adam Aznou’s move to Everton FC initially caused a stir. The 19-year-old left-back had left FC Bayern to make a name for himself in England. But instead of a breakthrough, the Moroccan has so far experienced a sporting dead end. According to the Teamtalk portal, Everton are therefore considering loaning out the talented defender this winter.

So far, Aznou has barely featured – neither on the pitch nor in the squad has he been able to establish himself on a permanent basis. He has yet to play a single minute in the Premier League. Those responsible at Everton are currently sounding out the market in order to give the youngster a new chance to gain match practice. The aim is to find a solution that guarantees the 19-year-old regular appearances. A specific league or nation is apparently not a factor here, with the focus more on sporting development.

According to the reports, both the club and Aznou’s entourage would like to see the youngster go on loan, which would be particularly beneficial with a view to his participation in the 2026 World Cup. However, there are currently no suitable offers, but given his talent and the demand for attacking full-backs, that could change quickly.

Eberl: „You can’t carry a dog to hunt“

When Aznou’s transfer cost around nine million euros in the summer, the move was the subject of controversy, with many observers accusing FC Bayern of losing another promising talent. Today, however, his departure seems like an understandable decision for the Munich club. Sporting director Max Eberl said at the time: „Our president has a nice saying: You can’t carry a dog to hunt. Now that the next step would have come from our point of view, he has said he no longer wants it, he wants to do something else.“

While several young players are coming to the fore at Bayern, Aznou is stuck in England. Neither the bench nor the stands offer the stage that a player of his quality needs to take the next step in his career. Despite the disappointing first few months, Aznou’s development is by no means complete. A smart loan could give him the impetus he needs to establish himself in professional soccer in the long term.
