Recently, Orlando City SC scouts and negotiators have gone seeking central midfielders. Midfielder Agustin Soria of Defensor Sporting Club in Uruguay is the latest name to erupt on the rumor lines. He was born at the organization’s home base of Montevideo.

The 20-year-old has lately appeared in 15 matches for the club. He made all 90 minutes in five of them. The club competes in the nation’s Primera Division.

Soria has also appeared in their competition in Liga Auf Apertura. There he played all 90 minutes in wins against Boston River and River Plate. He also appeared with them in the first round of Copa Libertadores.

He would join the organization after another central midfielder who was recently signed, Eduard Atuesta.

Soria comes from the third-winningest club in Uruguay. The first two are Penarol and Club National de Football. So regularly playing 90 minutes with Defensor is a credit to his scouting report.

The main job of central midfielders like Atuesta and Soria is controlling the tempo of the game. Passing skill is a must, as is an eye for times they must drop back and assist in the defense. They will dominate possession while creating space for the squad.
