According to AS, even after repeated signings on the left flank in recent windows, the Navarrese full-back had typically fought back to secure substantial minutes and starts.

The picture has shifted, with Sergio Gómez now firmly established as the first choice on the left in Pellegrino Matarazzo’s plans. That has left the Etxauri-born defender in a clearly secondary role.

This shortage of minutes has sparked talk of a possible summer departure, an option gaining traction with only one year remaining on his deal.
