Real Madrid trained at Valdebebas on Thursday ahead of Sunday’s LaLiga trip to Mestalla to face Valencia in matchday 23. David Alaba missed out with flu, while Rodrygo Goes worked away from the group on an individual plan inside the facilities.

According to Superdeporte, the Brazilian completed a tailored routine usually reserved for players managing minor issues or regaining sharpness without pushing too hard.

It is not the first time this season, as in January he took a knock and sat out several sessions and matches before returning.

Rodrygo’s recent rhythm has sparked debate, with flashes of quality offset by fewer starts and more appearances from the bench. Late in January he posted an apology after being sent off for two bookings against Benfica in the Champions League, leaving him out of the next European game.

Neither the club nor the coach has specified why he trained separately, and indications point to load management rather than a serious injury. With a demanding schedule ahead, the staff appear intent on protecting him for Mestalla. The final medical update and the squad list are expected in the coming hours, and his place in the starting line-up remains uncertain.
