According to Fabrizio Romano, Alexsandro Ribeiro, 26 and currently at Lille, is in talks over a move to Ipswich Town. Flamengo could benefit via FIFA’s solidarity mechanism if the transfer goes through.
The deal could be worth about €30 million, roughly R$178.2 million at the current rate. If completed at that level, Flamengo would receive around R$2.5 million.
The Rio club retain a training compensation entitlement from the defender’s development years, despite having no role in any agreement.
Alexsandro was in Flamengo’s academy from 2014 to 2017 but did not make the senior side, then moved to Resende.
He later played in Portugal for Praiense, Amora and Chaves, before joining Lille in 2022. He has featured for Brazil and was close to a World Cup call, then lost out late to Léo Pereira. The European transfer window is open, and Ipswich are newly promoted to the Premier League.
