Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Portsmouth winger Meg Hornby on a free transfer.

The Tractor Girls announced the news via a post on their official club website just a short time ago.

The 26-year-old joins Ipswich Town upon the expiry of her contract at Portsmouth. She has signed a three-year deal at Portman Road.

Hornby is experienced at Barclays WSL2 level. She spent three seasons in the senior side at Blackburn Rovers before joining Portsmouth in 2024. Hornby was relegated with Portsmouth this season, however, she managed to net eight goals in 20 league outings for The Blues. More than a third of Portsmouth’s league goals were scored by Hornby.

The player is dangerous from both wide and central positions and she is sure to be a real asset for Ipswich Town next season.

After joining The Tractor Girls, Hornby said “I’m really excited to be here. It’s been a move that has been in the making for a while and it’s great that it’s now finally done.

“I can’t wait to meet my new teammates, start building relationships and to actually get out on the pitch.”

In other squad news, defender Megan Wearing has signed a contract extension with Ipswich Town for the 2026/2027 season. She is one of the longest-serving members of the squad at Portman Road.
