Opposition Manager: Brian Sorensen

Danish manager Sorensen was appointed as Everton boss in April 2022 on a two-year deal, before extending again in 2024.

The 45-year-old enjoyed a particularly fruitful two spells at Danish side Fortuna Hjorring before his move to Merseyside, winning the Danish Championship in 2014 and 2016.

They also reaching the quarter finals in the 2016/17 UEFA Women’s Champions League, and he’s transformed Everton into a solid outfit since leaving Denmark in 2022.

He most recently earned the Barclays Women’s Super League Manager of the Month award in May 2024, and guided Everton to eighth in the WSL last season.

One To Watch:

Everton are currently ninth in the league, but their last fixture at Aston Villa played out as a thrilling 3-3 draw.

The Toffees became the only team to score against Villa in October with that point, but are still searching for a second win of the season after an opening derby day 4-1 victory over Liverpool.

Ornella Vignola made history in that game by becoming the Blues’ first women’s player to score a hat-trick against Liverpool.

She’ll be looking to make a difference and extend her lead as the club’s top goal scorer this season.

Previous Meeting

City last faced Everton as recently as September 2025 in the League Cup, where we ran out 3-1 winners at the Joie Stadium.

Jade Rose gave us the lead after 21 minutes before Yui Hasegawa and Vivianne Miedema put the game to bed in the second half.

Everton’s Hikaru Kitagawa grabbed a late goal in the 82nd minute but it was too late to cause trouble to City.

Last Time Out

Aoba Fujino’s first half strike proved the difference in Saturday’s 1-0 win over West Ham at the Joie Stadium.

Vivianne Miedema’s clever pass set up the Japan international for a composed finish into the bottom corner, with both teams also hitting the woodwork.

Jeglertz’s side earnt their first clean sheet of the season with the win, leaving us one point off top spot going into Sunday’s fixture.

TV Coverage

City’s away tie at Goodison Park will be shown live in the United Kingdom at 14:10 on BBC Two.
