After initially ruling himself out of Canada’s World Cup opener against Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 12, Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies has now opened the door to featuring in the match after all.

Recovering from a muscle injury, Davies previously said on The Sid Seixeiro Show earlier this week that playing against Bosnia wouldn't be possible – but he is now refusing to completely rule it out.

“The first game is coming up pretty quickly. The thing we talked about, me and the coach and the people that were in (a meeting regarding his fitness), I think we understand how important the first game is. But we understand recovery is always an important thing,” Davies told Canadian outlet CP24.

“If I’m recovering as good as possible, let’s see. If not, then there’s no need to rush. Anything is possible in life. For me, it’s (all) depending on how the recovery is going, how these next few days or this week leading up to the game goes.”

Davies suffered the injury in a game for Bayern last month.
