Fulham are said to have made contact with Alvaro Arbeloa as they seek a replacement for Marco Silva, according to The Athletic.
Arbeloa was dismissed by Real Madrid on 9 June. The former Spain right-back, 43, had taken charge in January and lasted six months.
Real Madrid have appointed José Mourinho in his place, which led to his departure from Benfica. Benfica then moved for Marco Silva.
Silva had just left Fulham after five seasons. Arbeloa could now succeed him.
Arbeloa won 56 Spain caps and knows the Premier League. He played for Liverpool from 2007 to 2009 and for West Ham from 2016 to 2017, alongside spells with Real Madrid and Deportivo La Coruna.
