Romain Saiss returned to Molineux at the weekend and addressed Wolves supporters with a message of gratitude and optimism.

The player said in a post that: "Once a wolf, always a wolf. Thanks to my club Wolves and all the fans for the warm welcome you gave my family and me."

"We still feel at home despite the fact that years go by. The club will come back to the Prem, where it deserves to be. After darkness comes the light. See you soon. (DJ, never forgotten)."

His message also nodded to Diogo Jota, who died in a car crash last year. On Saturday he was paraded around the pitch to a rousing reception.

Saiss signed for Wolves in 2016, helped win the 2018 Championship title under Nuno and was influential as the club reached the Europa League last eight.

He departed four years ago for Besiktas and now plays for Al Sadd in the Qatar Stars League. The afternoon also saw Raul Jimenez serenaded by home fans and cheered again when he came on for Fulham.
