Carlo Ancelotti says Neymar will not be cut from Brazil’s World Cup squad. He added the forward should be available for the opener against Morocco, though he should be used in the second group game.

According to Diario Do Peixe, Ancelotti also confirmed the outlet’s reporting on the plan for his return, with the forward undergoing three daily treatment sessions and aiming to be on the pitch after the friendly against Egypt in the United States.

The coach said Santos had informed Brazil before the call-up that Neymar had a small issue, a minor oedema, and the club managed it until the 27th. The player was selected because the staff believed he should be. From the 27th, the CBF assumed responsibility for his recovery.

Ancelotti said Neymar is working well and in good spirits. He thinks the forward will recover as quickly as possible and be available to the team.

He stressed there would be no squad changes, insisting the 26 chosen will go to the World Cup. Neymar cannot yet train with the group, he added, but is performing strongly in individual work.
