André sent off as Corinthians lose three players to suspension for Mirassol trip | OneFootball

Corinthians will be without three players for the 14th-round trip to Mirassol at Maião on 5 May. According to Globo.com, André, André Carrillo and Gustavo Henrique are all suspended.

In the 13th-round meeting with Vasco on Sunday at Neo Química Arena in the Campeonato Brasileiro, André was shown a red card in the first half for a foul from behind on Thiago Mendes.

Carrillo, who stayed on the bench, and centre-back Gustavo Henrique each received their third yellow card, ruling them out of the next round.

It was André’s second dismissal in two weeks, after he was sent off in the derby against Palmeiras for making an obscene gesture towards Andreas Pereira.

Corinthians also punished the midfielder internally, docking 10% of his registered salary.

Head coach Fernando Diniz defended the youngster, maintaining that he did not make the obscene gesture that led to that earlier sending off.
