Corinthians will be without André Carrillo, Gustavo Henrique and André Luiz for the Campeonato Brasileiro game against Mirassol on 3 May after the 1-0 win over Vasco da Gama led to suspensions.
According to Meu Timao, Gustavo Henrique was booked on 29 minutes and Carrillo on 38, and as both were one caution from a ban they will miss the next round.
Before the interval André Luiz was sent off for a challenge on Thiago Mendes, with referee Davi de Oliveira Lacerda showing a straight red. Corinthians played the entire second half with 10 men and held on.
They join six existing absentees. João Pedro Tchoca has pubic pain, Charles a right heel problem, Memphis Depay and Gui Negão are recovering from right thigh issues, Kayke is recovering after left ACL surgery, and Hugo Farias after surgery on the right lateral meniscus.
There is some relief for Fernando Diniz, with goalkeeper Hugo Souza and full-back Matheuzinho available again after suspensions were reduced by the STJD.
The victory ended a run of nine league matches without a win, stretching back to February’s defeat of Athletico Paranaense. Corinthians climbed out of the relegation zone to 14th on 15 points, above Santos, Internacional and Atlético Mineiro.
Before returning to the Brasileirão, they host Peñarol on Thursday at 21:00 at Neo Química Arena in the Libertadores group stage, third round.
