Argentina, the reigning champions, have left Agustín Rossi out of their 55-man provisional squad for the 2026 World Cup, roughly a month before the tournament begins.
According to Coluna Do Fla, Lionel Scaloni has selected six goalkeepers in the pre-list, but the Flamengo number one is not included. He was a standout for the club in 2025, playing a key role in their fourth Libertadores title.

So far this season Rossi has made 23 appearances for Flamengo, keeping eight clean sheets and conceding 21 goals.
With his omission from Scaloni’s pre-list, the goalkeeper will remain available to Flamengo during the World Cup.
The announcement forms part of Argentina’s preparations, with the provisional list preceding their final call-ups for the tournament.
