Arne Slot is about to unleash a world-class star for Liverpool.

Right now, things are looking bleak at Anfield. After winning their first seven matches of the season, the Reds have suffered back-to-back defeats.

They looked poor against Crystal Palace and were overrun and looked helpless against Galatasaray.

Now these were always going to be tough tests for Slot's team. Palace are a well-oiled machine who have beaten Manchester City not too long ago in the FA Cup final. They are also unbeaten in 18 matches - the longest run in Europe's top five leagues.

On the other hand, Galatasaray is an extremely difficult ground to go to. The club's fans are known to be boisterous and hostile towards the visiting opponent.

They made that clear with their constant whistles every time the Reds were in possession.

Regardless to walk away with zero points from either game is disappointing. Slot didn't just fail to pick up the three points in both games but the performances were terrible, too.

The Reds weren't the better side against Palace nor against Galatasaray. Both defeats were deserved.

It's something that needs to change going forward. Liverpool have gotten away with it at times in their first seven games of the season but they won't get away with it forever.

Heading into the Chelsea game is an opportunity to bounce back for Liverpool and get much needed three points on the board just before the international break.

Slot is expected to make changes. Among the likeliest of changes will be Giorgi Mamardashvili coming into the team.

Alisson picked up an injury against Galatasaray and he's almost certainly ruled out of the game at Stamford Bridge.

But this doesn't matter because Liverpool have a world-class deputy waiting on the wings in the Georgian.

Mamardashvili was nominated for the Lev Yashin award given to the best goalkeeper in the world at the Ballon d'Or ceremony last year.

He's been regarded as one of the best young goalkeepers in world football for a while and he's looked promising every time he has played in pre-season.

Now, he's finally going to be unleashed in the Premier League, and it's a great opportunity for him to make his mark.
