Arsenal are admirers of Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, according to The Athletic.

Scott has caught the eye of the Gunners after he enjoyed an outstanding Premier League campaign last term. The 22-year-old is also a target for Manchester United.

He was invited to the England camp last month to train with the team after not making the final 26-man World Cup squad.

Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel claimed to be delighted to have Scott at the camp.

An international debut is on the cards after he received his first senior England call-up last November.

Arsenal also have West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes on their radar, but the Red Devils are the favourites to sign him.

Arteta wants quality competition for Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi, with Christian Norgaard expected to leave after failing to impress.

Scott fits the bill, having proved himself in the Premier League, but Arsenal also have Lille star Ayyoub Bouaddi on the radar.

The 18-year-old midfielder was one of the best players in the 1-1 draw between Morocco and Brazil at the World Cup, completing 60 passes and three successful dribbles.

Bouaddi is a top talent, but signing him will be a gamble as he is unproven in a physical league.

Scott brings energy and verve to the table, contesting 10.4 duels per 90 minutes.

Arsenal could do with his relentlessness and aggression with and without possession, and it will be intriguing to see if they step up their interest.
