In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Arsenal are keeping tabs on Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez. It has been revealed that the Gunners are monitoring the situation of the Argentina international ahead of a potential move for him this summer.

Alvarez’s Impressive Form In La Liga

Alvarez has enjoyed a decent run of form at the Spanish club in this campaign after he put in a string of productive displays as the focal point of Diego Simeone’s attack. The 26-year-old has played in 49 matches for Atletico Madrid this season, finding the back of the net 20 times and earning nine assists in multiple competitions.

The Argentine talent has proven himself to be a consistent performer in La Liga. Thus, it is no surprise that the Gunners are eyeing a move to bring him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

His current contract at the Wanda Metropolitano will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for Arsenal to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Should Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta Snap Alvarez Up This Summer?

Alvarez is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create some decent chances in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Argentine sensation is primarily a centre-forward but can also fill in as a wide player on either flank if asked to do so. He has already got a wealth of experience in the Premier League from his spell at Manchester City and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Arsenal.

Alvarez would undoubtedly improve the quality of Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He is good enough to compete with Viktor Gyokeres for a regular starting role at the Emirates Stadium next season.

At 26, Alvarez has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the North London club to pursue at the end of this campaign. He might even help Arsenal challenge for some major honours over the next few years. Therefore, Arteta should focus on going all out to snap him up later this year.
