Serie A club Parma want to appoint Arsenal assistant manager Carlos Cuesta as their new manager, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The 29-year-old is now set to leave the Emirates Stadium club after working with manager Mikel Arteta for five years.
The Gunners will look to appoint a replacement as soon as possible, with pre-season preparations for 2025-26 almost underway.
Cuesta previously worked in the youth system at Atletico Madrid and Juventus.
Norwich City were linked with the Spaniard in February 2024, but a move fell through.
His imminent departure will be a significant blow to Arsenal, given that he is well-liked by the players.
He will be desperate to prove his mettle as a first-team boss in one of the best leagues in the world.
Cuesta speaks six languages and has worked primarily as an individual development coach with the Gunners, with a strong focus on improving tactical understanding.
He signed a new contract at Arsenal until 2027 during last season, but will now replace Cristian Chivu as Parma’s head coach.
Arsenal will be eager to appoint a replacement for Cuesta ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
